Articles : Trade Groups: Why We Join
It's likely that the majority of us hold current memberships in groups such as BOMA, IFMA, or the SWRI. Although we all have the tendency to overextend ourselves in this arena, there must be myriad reasons motivating us to do so year after year.
EDS has been a member of BOMA, IFMA, IREM, and the SWRI for several years. We were recently welcomed into several additional groups, including the Myrtle Beach Area Hospitality Association (MBAHA), the North Carolina Healthcare Engineers Association (NCHEA), and statewide hospitality organizations in North Carolina, South Carolina, and Virginia. It can be a fun test of mental agility to keep all the acronyms straight, but cognitive fitness isn't what drives us to join these groups. Rather, it's the opportunities to network and be educated that draw us into community with our industry colleagues.
Our job is to provide our customers with the highest quality of service possible. One way to achieve this goal is to keep abreast of the latest industry trends and developments; and although our years of waterproofing and restoration experience provides a decent foundation, it's only by continuing to educate ourselves that we can really be of greatest service to you. Think about it: how many waterproofing and restoration contractors can really demonstrate a thorough understanding of facility management reserve funds, capital expenditures, or operating budgets and how they affect your maintenance needs? EDS has, does, and will continue to do so.
Our participation in trade organizations also enables us to get to know clients on a personal level. While some argue that business is impersonal, we disagree-better results are our prize when we do business with someone who has taken the time to learn about us and our individual needs.
All of these benefits combine to provide you with the customized service you demand from a facilities contractor. You want a contractor who knows his business, but more importantly, one who knows yours. With our experience, industry involvement, and tailored approach, EDS is able to continue delivering on time, within budget, and with great results.
